Yeah I've reset my router, although that isn't the problem at all. The Kindle won't find ANY wifi connections, it stays on its scanning screen forever - or eventually just exits the menu leaving WiFi switched off. It cannot identify its own MAC address.

My Kindle is the kindle touch 4th Gen had no issues with it until a couple of months ago when it wouldn't download books - but it had wifi. Tried 2 weeks ago to get onto wifi and nothing.

Read that my software might be out of date so went on amazon and downloaded the most up to date version. Re-booted the kindle twice and nothing.


I cant even manually enter a wifi connection which it was allowing me before. I also can't download and transfer books to the kindle as they don't seem to be downloading properly from amazon. I really don't want to purchase a new kindle as this one is in mint condition but it is extremely frustrating.

Morning Ashleigh: I would respectfully suggest that you go to the software download pages again and check that you downloaded the correct software upgrade s and installed them correctly. If you had to go from version 1 to version 4 then you would have to download and install v2, then v3 and finally v4. If you jumped to v4 then your device will have problems. In the meantime you can always download the FREE kindle for pc, phone, mac application and corry on reading your books with an alternative device at no cost. I'm experiencing exactly the same thing. Just switched my Kindle on after a few months of inactivity.

When I go to settings, Wi-Fi Networks and click "view" nothing happens at all, it says "Avaliable Wi-Fi networks 0 " whereas on my computer I can detect my own router and lots of other ones in the surrounding flats.
